DESCRIPTION:An EZ Glider round trip paddle from the He’eia Kea canoe hale to Ahu o Laka\, the sandbar in the middle of Kaneohe Bay. A great beginners paddle! There will be a negative low tide at 10:51 AM so we should be able to land on the sandbar. We’ll take a break there to have a snack\, swim\, snorkel or fish around the sandbar. Meet at 9:30 AM\, launch at 10:00 AM. SUMMARY:Easter Meet & Greet
DESCRIPTION:We have a full day of kayaking activities for prospective members and their families. The activities begin at 9:00 am with an “Introduction to Kayaking” clinic that will teach paddling strokes\, proper PFD fitting\, basic safety and on-the-water capsize recovery. At 11:30 we’ll have our traditional kayak Easter egg hunt on the bay. Bring your kids (or borrow some) and create a memory they’ll never forget! If you bring kids make sure that each one has a properly sized PFD. (Walmart carries affordable children’s PFDs.) After the eggs are gathered we’ll enjoy a sumptuous BBQ potluck lunch. As we digest our feast we’ll give out egg hunt prizes followed by a used equipment auction\, including at least one kayak. This is a great opportunity for new paddlers to score some quality gear at a bargain. \n\n\n\nA limited number of loaner kayaks are available for this event.
